The Migrant Worker Task Force aims to:

- Advocate on national legislations regarding the migrant workers, especially the women, including the measures to prevent further violations of the their human rights;

- Increase the public and state participation in urging the ratification of the Migrant Convention of 1990.
The task force has conducted national and international level advocacy regarding the human rights of the migrant workers. Several notable examples are the Letter to the Indonesian Consular in Hong Kong no. 2258/IA/XII/2007 on the change of agency for woman migrant workers, propositions sent to the Asia Pacific Forum on National Human Rights Institutions, various discussions with the governmental agencies and the NGOs on the state service towards the woman migrant workers, who fall victims to violation of rights, monitoring on the cases of violation of migrant workers’ human rights, etc.
To date, the task force is building a cooperative effort with the Human Rights National Commission to develop the gender-sensitive instrument to monitor the violation against the migrant workers’ human rights. This instrument will hopefully become a standard in documenting the violation against migrant workers’ human rights.
